ARAGON, OAXACA, MEXICO, 1-27-67, c. 1967, 9" MEXICAN DAGGER, with 5 1/8" dagger blade, sharpened on both sides, with median ridge down the center, with etching on both sides, with a pattern on one side and the words "QUE OJOS ME PELARA EL MUERTO SI ME VIERA CAN LA VIUDA" written on the other side. Full brass guard, with brass ferrule and round multi-colored sections of buffalo horn, with a round brass pommel. Original sewn leather sheath with some tooling on the front. This is a Aragon knife-undisputed leader in Mexican knives since late 1700’s, the older maker in the Western Hemisphere. NM $95.00    SOLD

90. UNNAMED (SPAIN) c. 1880-90’S, 18" SPANISH DAGGER, with 13 1/4" wavy kris blade, sharpened on both sides, with median ridge down the center. This is a substantial blade, made of thick stock, in fine condition, with some light patina and pitting, but no deep pitting. The tip is just a tad blunted. Full brass guard, 2 5/8" wide, with "cross" shaped quillons. One piece round carved and grooved buffalo horn scales brass sections about 1" wide on both sides, with a round brass pommel cap. Original dark brown sewn leather sheath in better than excellent condition. EX $245.00

91. UNNAMED (PHILLIPINES) c. 1900,18 1/2" BOLO-BOWIE KNIFE, with heavy thick (1/2") blade, which slopes gently down towards the tip. The blade is thickest in the center, being 2 1/4" deep at the deepest part. The blade has some light scratches and a couple small areas of pitting and has a few small dents on the back (from use). One piece round carved and grooved buffalo horn scales with steel ferrule and steel section near the pommel, with a round steel pommel cap. Original dark brown sewn leather sheath in about excellent condition, with some fringes and some tooling, with a fancy throat attached. There is a German silver tip. This is a very substantial piece. 92. UNNAMED (CAUCASIAN) c. 1950’s-PRESENT, 16" KINDJAL, with 10 1/2" dagger blade, sharpened on both sides, with three fullers down both sides of the blade. The blade is bright, with mostly original polish, with some scratches, tapering to a sharp point. The handle is straight, with a broad pommel (snake head shape) with an almost as broad guard next to the blade. The scales appear to be made of brass and white metal of some sort, with twisted wire design on the front, which is painted green, with a brass shield in the center. The scabbard is of similar construction and finish with twisted wire, with a wire wrapped section near the large round metal tip. NM $95.00    SOLD

93. ANTONIO PEREZ (MEXICO) c. 1890-1920’S, 12 1/2" MEXICAN BOWIE KNIFE, with nearly 7 1/2" flat ground deep clip blade, which is about 1 5/8" deep at the deepest part. The blade has two thin fullers near the back, and the clip is very pronounced, curving up dramatically near the tip. Half brass or copper guard extending below the handle. The handle is made up of (4) four round sections of black and green buffalo horn, with a large mushroom shaped buffalo horn pommel, with a Mexican coin as the flat cap. There are a couple cracks and chips in the horn which is not distracting. A substantial knife. EX $275.00
