FRONT COVER

1. UNNAMED (FRENCH OR SPANISH) c. 1800, 8 5/8" DIRK, with nearly 5" blade, sharpened on both sides, with fuller in the center, with a floral design in the fuller, with double Spanish notches on both sides just ahead of the guard. The cut steel ferrule is very nice, integral with the blade, with a round section in the center. The handle is silver, finely engraved, in a fine taper, widening towards the pommel, with a rounded engraved pommel, with thumb rest. There are fine tortoise shell flat inserts on both sides with no cracks or chips. EX+ $695.00     SOLD

2. UNNAMED (FRENCH) c. 1800, 4 1/2" FOLDING LOCKBACK DIRK, with 3 3/4" gold blade, with flared thicker back, slightly hollow ground, with a maker’s mark or gold stamp on the blade. The blade is gorgeous, with a few very light scratches in a couple of places, which is not very noticeable. Top and bottom gold "clamshell" bolsters, beautifully done and just about completely intact. Colorful mother of pearl scales, carved, with slanted grooves, with (5) slanted multi-grooved gold bands on each side, with four (4) rosette gold pins on each side. The mother of pearl is just about perfect, with one thin crack on one side, which is not very noticeable. The back has a gold gilted file worked lock near the front, with a tapered backspring, thinning towards the pommel. This is a very outstanding piece. EX++ $ 995.00 SOLD

3. UNNAMED (AMERICAN) c. 1800, 8 1/2" NAVAL DIRK, with nearly 6" blade, double hollow ground on the front, and flat ground on the back, with bluing and gold floral etch, with about 75% of the bluing and gold remaining. The tip has a slight bend, with some very fine pitting. Full brass guard with acorn finals on the ends, with a small brass ferrule. The handle is finely carved ivory, with an Eagle head pommel, with "black" eyes carved beak, etc. No sheath. A very unusual knife-the only Dirk with a carved ivory Eagle head. EX+ $995.00 SOLD

4. JOT, SINGH KHALSA (MASSACHUSETTS) c. PRESENT, 4 7/8" HANDMADE BUTTON LOCK AUTOMATIC FOLDER, with single saber and hollow ground Damascus blade, curving slightly downwards in a drop point style, with pronounced sharpened false edge about ¾’s of the length of the blade. Top mokeme bolsters, with round fiery opal inserts over the front pins, with fiery opal button release. The handle is pistol grip shaped, with breathtaking yellow lip pearl scales, fastened with small hexagon nuts, over stainless steel liners. This is a beautiful piece. 5. REESE WEILAND, FLORIDA, c. 1988-PRESENT, 5 3/4" HANDMADE LINERLOCK DUAL ACTION AUTOMATIC FOLDER, with single saber and hollow ground Damascus blade, curving slightly upwards in a trailing point style, with pronounced false edge for most of the length of the blade. Top Damascus bolsters, with no bottom bolsters. The handle is fairly straight, with pistol grip, with green and brown fossilized mammoth ivory scales over blue anodized titanium scales. 6. AARON FREDERICK, KENTUCKY (SON-IN-LAW OF JOHN W. SMITH), c. PRESENT, 4 3/4" HANDMADE LINERLOCK AUTOMATIC FOLDER, with single saber and hollow ground Damascus blade, curving upwards in a trailing point style. Top and bottom Damascus bolsters, with gold screws and gold bands across the front. The handle is pistol grip shaped, with Gorgeous carved and checkered mother of pearl scales, fastened with two gold screws in the center. File worked stainless steel liners, with file worked Damascus back, with file worked inside back. This is a beautiful piece. 7. A. CRENSHAW, LAKE EUFAULA, OKLA. #945 c. 1981-PRESENT, 3 1/8" HANDMADE PREMIUM STOCK KNIFE, with master clip blade, with long pull, a sheepfoot and a pen blade. All blades have long pulls and all blades are nicely file worked on the back. Ns square bolsters. Nicely file worked steel liners, with file worked backsprings and liners. Very pretty abalone scales. 8. COUTEL, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, c. 1970’S, 5 3/8" HANDMADE FOLDING BOWIE KNIFE, with single large flat ground spear blade, with file worked back and long pull. The blade is fairly thick, made of 3/16" thick stock, with fine file working on the back, with small false edge near the front on both sides. Beautiful handle with coffin shaped ns engraved bolsters on both ends, with engraved mother of pearl scales, with an Indian on a horse in black with lots of fineries in black, with "M" signature near the bottom, on both sides. The thick backspring is also nicely file worked. A gorgeous knife, very collectible. Coutel knives have become very collectible. MINT $995.00   SOLD

9. UNNAMED (SHEFFIELD) c. 1800, 3 1/4" MULTI-BLADED KNIFE, with 11 blades (one broken off). Each blade is flat ground quill blade, with a couple in sheepfoot shape and the rest in more pen blade style. Pretty carved mother of pearl scales with several plain pins and several silver rosette pins. The pearl is nicely scalloped on the edges, or similarly scalloped brass liners, with no noticeable cracks. A fine early knife. EX+ $395.00  SOLD

10. UNNAMED (SHEFFIELD) c. 1800, 3 1/8" MULTI-BLADED KNIFE, with 11 blades (one broken off). Each blade is flat ground quill blade, with a couple in sheepfoot shape and the rest in more pen blade style. Pretty carved mother of pearl scales with steel pins and not noticeable cracks or chips, very attractive. The pearl is nicely scalloped on the edges, or similarly scalloped brass liners, with no noticeable cracks. A fine early knife. EX+ $395.00

11. MEMOU (FRANCE), c. 1800, 4 1/4" FRUIT KNIFE, with one flat ground spear shaped blade and a sterling silver hallmarked fruit blade. Both blades appear to be about full. The steel blade has some light patina and fine pitting and some light scratches on it. The knife has ornate ns bolsters rounded on both ends, multi-grooved, with large rosette pins on each end. The scales are fine tortoise shell, with several small chips and a thin crack on one side. Both sides have ns crest shields on them with engraved scripted initials on each. There are large round pins also on each end of the scales. This knife is all original with no cleaning. Pretty early and hard to find. EX- $295.00   SOLD

12. FOUR ACRE (SHEFFIELD) c. 1800-1820, 3 1/4" QUILL KNIFE, with single flat ground coping blade, with mostly original polish, a little light scratching on it. Beautiful elephant ivory scales, nicely scalloped and carved overall, with pique in the center on the front, over similarly scalloped brass liners. The backspring is chased with steps and cross hatching. A very nice early piece in outstanding condition. EX+-NM $295.00    SOLD

13. AL??, DUKE ST., SHEFFIELD, c. 1870-80’S, 3 1/2" PEN KNIFE, with single flat ground spear blade, with long pull, with "LADY’S COMPANION" etched fully across the blade, with scalloping design on each side of the etching. The blade has mostly original polish, with some fine pitting light pitting, probably full. Very pretty carved pearl scales, with carved clamshell bolsters, over brass liners. A very unusual knife, with a neat etching. EX $275.00

14. STAINLESS, ITALY, c. 1940-50’S 4 7/8" MULTI-BLADED SPORTSMAN’S KNIFE, with 17 blades and implements. Some of the blades include a master locking flat ground spear blade, clip blade, saw blade, gut hook, fish-scaler and hook remover, screwdriver-cap lifter, button hook, scissors, can opener, (2) sheepfoot type blades, awl, pricker, phillips driver and sail needle. The blades have all original polish, with more patina or pitting. This is a substantial knife, over 2" thick, with pretty slab stag scales, with eased edge brass bolsters, over brass liners. This is a fine piece. MINT $295.00  SOLD

15. ITOKIO KIKUHDE (JAPAN), c. 1900, 3 3/4" MULTI-BLADED SPORTSMAN’S KNIFE, with 15 blades and implements. Master flat ground spear blade, saw blade, screwdriver-cap lifter, button hook, scissors, can opener, (2) sheepfoot type blades, awl, pricker, screwdriver, sail needle, triangular leather punch, ear spoon and a two tined fork. The blades have some original polish, with some patina on a few. The backsprings are fileworked nicely. This is a fairly thick knife, about 1 ¼" wide, with ns round grooved bolsters on each end, with a large heavy ns bail at the end. The scales are very pretty elephant ivory, with two tiny cracks which are not distracting. A very unusual piece, with ivory scales. EX $395.00   SOLD

16. JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS, NO. 6, NORFOLK ST., SHEFFIELD, STAR, CROSS, HALLMARKED, c. 1860-70’S, 4 1/4" SLIDE APART HOBO KNIFE, with master flat ground rounded point blade. The other two tools are a scalloped two tined fork and the other a hallmarked sterling silver spoon. All of the pieces are minty. This piece comes in 3 slide apart sections, with brass liners, over 3 backsprings. The scales are beautiful elephant ivory fastened by three pins, with a slight pistol grip pommel. The ivory is just about perfect, with two tiny cracks at two pins, which are not distracting. This is one of the nicest of these we have ever seen. MINT $ 595.00

17. YOUNG, EDINBURGH, c. 1870-80’S, 4 3/4" MEDICAL INSTRUMENT, with 4 1/8" front lock sewing needle, fairly thin towards the curved tip. The handle has very nice colored buffalo horn, bias cut, with no cracks or chips, over nicely file worked ns or brass liners. A most unusual piece. EX+-NM $295.00

18. WEISS & SON, 287 OXFORD ST. (LONDON) c. 1850-1880’S, 3 7/8" FOLDING MEDICAL INSTRUMENT, with two brightly finished blades, with black polish, both with original polish and no evidence of sharpening or use. One blade is a curved sharp probe-pointed bistoury and the other a tenotome. Each blade is long and thin and very sharp. Gorgeous tortoise shell scales, with no cracks or chips over milled brass liners. No bolsters. A knife with extremely fine finish. A folding pocket instrument made for a Surgeon’s emergency use. 19. WEISS, LONDON, c. 1850-1880’S, 4 3/8" FOLDING MEDICAL INSTRUMENT, with two brightly finished blades, with black polish, both with original polish and no evidence of sharpening or use. One blade is a curved probe-pointed bistoury and the other a sharp pointed bistoury. Each blade is long and thin and very sharp. Gorgeous tortoise shell scales, with no cracks or chips over brass liners. No bolsters. A knife with extremely fine finish. A folding pocket instrument made for a Surgeon’s emergency use. HARRIS BROTHERS & HOWS0N (SHEFFIELD) c. 1870-80’S, 3 1/4" FLEAM, with three folding blades, each rectangular with a double edged pointed blade with median ridge down the center, each of different size. Each blade has original polish with some light patina on it. Pretty buffalo horn scales, with no chips over brass liners, with one tiny crack at one pin, with "birds eye" front pin. There is a brass liner over the back. Very nice piece. NM $125.00

21. T. TURNER & CO., ENCORE, CUTLERS TO HIS MAJESTY, c. 1890-1900, 3 5/8" TIMBER SCRIBNER KNIFE, with single fold out blade, with cutter on the front. Top rat tail steel bolsters and no bottom bolsters. Slab stag scales, very nicely matched, with no cracks or chips over steel liners. NM $125.00  SOLD

GREGORY CAST STEEL (SHEFFIELD) c. 1870-80’S, 3 1/4" FLEAM, with three folding blades, each rectangular with a double edged pointed blade with median ridge down the center, each of different size. Each blade has original polish with some light patina on it. Pretty buffalo horn scales, with a couple of tiny chips, but no cracks, with a "birds eye" front pin. 23. W. PERYS (SHEFFIELD) c. 1820, 3 1/8" GEORGIAN QUILL KNIFE, with single flat ground pen blade, about full, with mostly original polish. Fine multi-grooved steel top bolsters with no bottom bolsters. Pretty mother of pearl scales, with no cracks or chips, over brass liners. There is a silver cover over the backspring and the inside of the backspring is nicely fileworked. There is a round silver shield on the front. This fine knife comes in its green near mint morrocan leather original box. EX+ $375.00

24. IXL, GEORGE WOSTENHOLM, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, c. 1930-50’S, 3 5/8" (4) bladed cattle knife, with master flat ground clip blade, with a spey, sheepfoot and a leather punch. All blades are full and unsharpened and with original polish. NS round slanted bolsters. Fine black rubber scales appearing like stag, with a "bowtie" shield on the front. This is knife is hard to find in 4 blades. NM-MINT $245.00

25. IXL, GEORGE WOSTENHOLM, SHEFFIELD, ENGLAND, c. 1900-20’S, 2 3/4" EQUAL END PEN KNIFE, with two blades, each small pen blades. Both are about full, with some light patina and pitting. This knife is outstanding because of its absolutely striking and gorgeous sterling silver scales with has an Indian in full headdress in one spot in high relief, with bows and arrows and other things to dress it up (as if it needed anything more). There is a silver ns bail at the top. The only one of these we have seen. EX++ $250.00  SOLD

26. R.H. RUANA, BONNER, MONTANA, c. 1944-62, 8 3/4" STICKER (12B), with 4 5/8" saber ground slightly upswept blade, with small false edge near the front. The blade has been lightly cleaned , with very few tiny pits remaining, about full. One piece cast aluminum handle with birds head shaped pommel, with elk horn stag inserts, fastened with two pins. Maker’s name with small knife stamp on the bolster. Fine replacement sheath, sewn with lots of rivets, which is molded to the knife, which was probably used during WW II and could be of that vintage. 27. GARCIA, JAQUE’S STAINLESS, BRAZIL, c. 1970’S, 11 3/4" SURVIVAL KNIFE, with 6 7/8" saber ground large spear blade, about 1 1/2" deep, with sawback, and pronounced false edge near the front, brightly finished and very attractive. The handle is round and hollow for the placement of survival items, covered with leather, with (5) grooves, with a full steel or aluminum guard, with twist off cap pommel. Original sewn and riveted leather sheath with stone pouch and stone and metal belt clip in mint condition. MINT $275.00

28. UNNAMED (MURPHY COMBAT, PORTLAND, OREGON) c. 1940’S, 1 5/8" MURPHY COMBAT KNIFE, with 6" saber ground clip blade, brightly finished, with original polish. One piece cast aluminum handle with integral guard and birds head shaped pommel, with no name stamped on it. This is an original knife made by David Murphy. This knife comes with its original sewn and riveted leather sheath, with a replaced keeper strap (hard to tell-with original button) in better than excellent condition. This is a fine W.W. II Murphy Combat knife. EX+ $495.00    SOLD

29. COMMANDO (IN CAMBODIAN), II, 911,911,99, c. 1960-70’S??, 11 1/8" COMMANDO DAGGER, with 6 3/8" dagger blade, sharpened on both sides, with median ridge down the center, with some light pitting and patina overall, but about full. Full ns oval guard, slightly bent. One piece cast brass handle, with (3) ornate sections, with elaborate design in high relief on each one, with pommel similar to Fairbairn Sykes daggers. This piece comes in a fine black leather and fabric sheath with metal belt clip, with interesting fastener on the front, in better than excellent condition. This knife was supposedly made for the 2nd Battalion, 911 Special Forces Regiment and we are told it is authentic. We have not seen one life it before. EX $495.00
